WAK Group initiated its journey of success with the launch of its LPG brand WAKGAS, in 1984. Over the last 3 decades WAKGAS has evolved into Pakistan’s largest distributor of LPG with state-of-the-art facilities for manufacturing top-quality gas cylinders and bottle apparatus. Relying on its experience of launching Lahore’s first-ever private housing society Civil & Defense Society in 1975-76, WAK Group continued its legacy of integrity and quality by announcing yet another community living project Pak Arab Housing Society in Lahore, in 2003. Staying in tune with changing times, WAK Group has diversified its portfolio to launch top-notch brands in real estate, gas & petroleum, steel, construction, fashion, media and consumer electronics. Through commitment and hard work, WAK Group has transformed itself into one of the largest business groups in Pakistan. Chairman WAK Group Senator Mr. Waqar Ahmed Khan announces with CEEC of China, construction of state of the art oil refinery, with deep conversion 100,000 barrels per day. It will be located in Dera Ismail Khan, KPK,Pakistan. This is a huge project for Pakistan as well as Khan Sahib’s hometown D.I.Khan. Mr. Waqar has fulfilled his promise made to the people of Pakistan. Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan also announeced that 10% of profit will go to Gulzar Foundation.

The foundation of the group was laid in the LPG segment through the creation of WAK GAS which was incorporated on 10 February, 1984 as a private limited company under the Company’s Ordinance 1984.

WAK GAS acquired its LPG Marketing license on 18 May, 1989 under the liquefied Petroleum (production and distribution) Rules of 1971 from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Government of Pakistan.

The Company started its LPG marketing operations in August, 1989 under the trade name of WAKGAS after it signed its first LPG Sales/Purchase agreement with the Oil and Gas Development Corporation (OGDC) and Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) for the purchase of LPG from the gas field of Adhi.

A flagship of WAK Group renowned as WAKGAS started its LPG marketing operations in August, 1989, WAK GAS is Pakistan’s only ISO-certified LPG concern engaged in buying, filling, marketing and distribution of Liquefied Petroleum Gas.Pakistan’s largest on-ground and mobile storage facility of over 6000MT and 1500 tons respectively, enables WAKGAS to cater to the versatile needs of its diversified customer-base comprising 40 million individuals and entities. WAKGAS’s state-of-the-art ISO-certified cylinder and bowser manufacturing facility is the backbone of its sales and distribution network comprising 5 strategically located filling and storage plants, 2200 branded outlets, 1200 distributors and a cylinder population exceeding 1.3 million, across Pakistan.

WAK Steel came in to existence in April, 1990. WAK Steel is an ISO-certified manufacturing facility at Lahore for manufacturing LPG cylinders, pressure vessels, storage tanks, and LPG bowsers. The facility has the capacity to produce over 250,000 LPG Cylinders of various capacities at the facility each year. All the present Bowsers being used WAK GAS another subsidery of WAK GROUP the Parent company of WAK STEEL have been manufactured in house besides many high pressure tanks and other storage facilities.

Falcon Oil incorporated in March, 1995 and became a Public Limited Company (Non Listed) in May, 1995. As the latest addition to the group, FALCON OIL is setting up a world-class oil refinery at Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KPK), in collaboration with a Chinese company (GEDI). The timing and the location of this joint venture is very crucial when viewed in the context of CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor), an epoch-making project that is going to be a game changer for the region.With a capacity of over 100 million barrels, Falcon Oil will be a backbone not only of PetroWell’s marketing of POL products, but of the national economy, fuelling growth and prosperity across the length and breadth of Pakistan.

Vital Enterprises laid its foundation in March, 1996. Later on its highly remarkable Project “PAK ARAB HOUSING SCHEME” launched in 2003.Envisioned to provide affordable shelter in a sustainable environment, Pak Arab Housing Society is the essence of WAK Group’s rich experience of real estate development. Commencing with the launch of Lahore’s first private housing society (currently known as DHA Phase 1) in 1960s, the Group has to its credit some landmark projects including Sui Gas Housing Scheme, Canal Park and River Edge.PAHS is primarily designed to suit the housing needs and aspirations of middle and lower income groups who form 90% of the total annual demand of 5 million houses in Pakistan. Following the successful transfer of almost 65% of plots in phase 1, PAHS has launched phase 2 where development work is already underway.

Going forward, WAK TECH is setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for assembling a complete array of Samsung’s innovative products. The said facility will be functional by mid 2017.
